Local students believe in an apple a day

Students at Dovercourt Public School can’t get enough of their apples. They receive the fruit from the Toronto Board in conjunction with Feed the Children. The apples are a part of the Living School initiative that the elementary school adopted two years ago. Principal Linda Conetta says the program has improved the school’s physical education level, overall health and energy. The school has made great gains in terms of healthy attitudes and lifestyles. In fact, thanks to the funding, Dovercourt was able to provide swimming lessons for its students at a nearby Boys and Girls club. Parents, students, teachers and the community have been brought together as a result of the program.
