New Lowell students take healthy living to heart
April 28, 2006
Metroland – Simcoe Division (Tracy Dermott)
As part of the Living School program, New Lowell Public School students hosted their very first health fair. The OPP was in attendance to discuss the importance bicycle safety for both kids and adults. The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit was there to cover a variety of topics from booster seats to nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices. There were a total of 32 booths offering information about healthy lifestyles and several presentations including environmental responsibility, allergy elimination and a defibrillator demonstration by firefighters from the Clearview Fire Department. The school was pleased to have brought the community together and is hoping this becomes an annual event.
