- One school promoted Walking, Wheeling Wednesday which challenged staff and students to ride their bikes or walk to school at least once each week. The school crossing guard now assists five times as many students as she did in the previous school year
- Once a year, the Living Schools invite their school communities to participate in the Living School "Live It Up Challenge". This celebration of Living School involves engaging everyone in at least 20 minutes of physical activity followed by a healthy snack.

Live it Up Challenge
The annual provincial Living School Live It Up Challenge is a special day to celebrate active, healthy living and is an opportunity for community members to demonstrate their support. Live It Up is intended to encourage healthy eating and physical activity within the whole school community. It’s also an opportunity for the school community to come together to demonstrate their support for Living School.
